Section 1 of The Employment Equity Act states that all employers who employ 50 or more employees, must comply with the stipulations of this Act.

- Written appointment of your Employment Equity Manager (EE Manager) as per Section 24 of the EE Act
- Establish a representative Employment Equity Committee (EE Committee) in line with Section 16 and 17 of the Act.
- Written appointments for all EE Committee members.
- Train the EE Manager and the EE Committee on their duties and responsibilities.
- Conduct a Workplace Analysis as required by Section 19 of the EE Act.
- Identify workplace barriers and affirmative action measures to address said barriers.
- Compile a realistic and achievable Employment Equity Plan (EE Plan) as per Section 20 of the EE Act.
- Inform all management and staff regarding the content of the EE Plan.
- Submit an annual report to the Department of Labour as required by Section 21 of the Act.
